Previously known as the Private Industry Council, The SMART Business Resource Center has proudly served the Shasta County community for over 40 years. We are a mission-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to helping people achieve education and workplace success. Each year, SMART serves hundreds/thousands of students, job seekers, schools, government agencies, and employers in the North State. The SMART Workforce Center is a 501c3 non-profit, committed to helping job seekers find jobs, increase training and skills, and increase earnings.

Report
The year was 1979. The average cost of a new house in Shasta County was $58,100, a gallon of gas cost.86 cents, and the average income per year was $17,500. Redding City Hall had just relocated out of the historic Old City Hall building and exciting opportunities were emerging throughout the county.
Del Norte

Situated in the far northwest corner of California, Del Norte is home to more than 27,000 residents. Located at 875 5th Street, in Crescent City, The SMART Workforce Center is at the heart of cultivating the vibrant workforce. The SMART Workforce Center is only a few minutes away from Battery Point Lighthouse, and an array of beautiful coastal views and beaches.

The Shasta County SMART Workforce Center sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by vast and beautiful mountain ranges. The area provide a wide array of outdoor activities including two lakes, national parks, and the beautiful Sacramento River. Serving as our headquarters office, the SMART Workforce Center also serves more than 180,000 county resident.

The SMART Workforce center, located at 790 Main Street, in Weaverville, California is at the heart of cultivating the dynamic workforce. From the beautiful panoramic views of the Alps, to lakes and rivers, Trinity County provides an array of year-round recreational, entertainment, and cultural activities.
