MANUFACTURING MANAGER
HARADA USA / Wilshire International de Mexico developed, and produced a unique and innovative polyurethane glove, which offered to users a safer and more comfortable alternative to Latex, Neoprene and PVC gloves widely used around the world on a large number of applications such as Clean Rooms, Medical Examination, and Semiconductor Electronics.

RESPONSIBILITIES: He was responsible for Quality, Production, Manufacturing, Clean Room, Human Resources, Accounting, Materials, Security, Safety and Environmental departments. Focused to keep the plant efficient and sound, in order for it to deliver the adequate production to the required Quality level maintaining good manufacturing yields, keeping minimum costs and headcount. He maintained a team that was capable of embrace challenges and proactively seek for opportunities for improvement. He was also responsible for Purchasing and Sales, serving Customers around the world, with the exception of those in Asia, which were directly served from Japan.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Effectively led a team that took plant yields from 60 to steady 80% in a year. The team challenged technically the process parameters, specifications and reorder levels ending up in significant cost savings, reduced inventories, and short throughput times. Every purchase was challenged, resulting in the reduction of middlemen “distributors”, better terms and prices, and the development of “partnerships” with the most important vendors. From the Sales perspective, Customers were served closely, in order for them to had their needs timely covered.

PRODUCTION MANAGER / QUALITY SYSTEMS MANAGER
EASTON is a company; world leader in high performance sports products. The EASTON Mexico facility was the manufacturer of all the graphite composite items for the corporation, such as Hockey sticks, Bike products, Bats, and Arrows.

RESPONSIBILITIES: As Production Manager, he was responsible for all the manufacturing aspects of Bike composite products, Hockey Pultruded shafts and Hybrid sticks and blades. Producing the adequate production (mix and quantity wise) to the required Quality level and at the best cost, by increasing the efficiency and through expenditures containment. Continuously locating opportunities for improving and leading teams towards better results. He had to manufacture products from pilot runs to mass production levels.

As Quality Systems Manager, he was in charge of the development, implementation and the maintenance of a Quality system based on the ISO 9000 standards. He led the facility towards the ISO registration in the role of Management Representative. He was continuously monitoring the Quality performance of the plant, and establishing protocols and programs to manage the continuous improvement, engineering changes, corrective and preventive actions, document control, customer complaints, and calibration.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: As Production Manager, his team was reaching production targets consistently, keeping yields to the required levels. On-time deliveries were brought from 80% to 90% by improving the productivity and first pass yields. The composite seat post, and the 2003 composite road bars went to mass production in 2002-3.
As Quality Systems Manager, the company was registered ISO 9001 in April 2001. Yield level increased from 83 to 93% in 2 years by successfully focusing in opportunity areas. Customer complaints, misleading conditions and undesirable trends were improved through the effective use of corrective and preventive actions.

POLYURETHANES QUALITY LEADER
BASF is world leader in high Quality chemical products for different markets, such as automotive, insulation, and footwear outsoles.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Incoming, in-process and outgoing inspection of polyurethane systems, as well as the implementation and maintenance of Quality systems in compliance with ISO 9000, QS 9000 and special customer requirements. Also as ISO 9000 Leader Auditor to perform internal and external Quality Audits, and to follow up them until clarification of nonconformities.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: The ISO 9000 registration was obtained in November 1995. The QS 9000 registration was prepared for 1997. Reprocess levels decreased (first pass yield went from 20 to 70%) through the successful tracking and improvement of opportunity areas, and therefore the productivity level and overall capacity became much larger.

QUALITY ENGINEER / SUPERVISOR – AG (Agricultural)
RAINBIRD SPRINKLERS is world leader in high Quality water sprinklers made out of brass, plastic and steel for several different markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES: In-process and outgoing inspection of casting, machinery and assembly, as well as the monitoring and improvement of production processes.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: By improvements to the application of SPC (Statistical Process Control), the overall Yield went from 80 to 87%, lowering the scrap, the rework and the number of customer complaints.

SANYO ENERGY CO; Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico; October 1990 - September 1992
QUALITY ENGINEER / SUPERVISOR
SANYO ENERGY is world leader in high Quality rechargeable batteries for different markets. Customers are BOSCH, Black & Decker, SKILL, MAKITA, and MOTOROLA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspection of single cell and battery packs, as well as the calibration of measuring and test equipment.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: By the effective implementation of SPC and calibration systems, the final yield increased from 99 to 99.97%, lowering the scrap, the rework and the number of customer complaints.

PULSE ENGINEERING / PUL S.A.; Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico; November 1989 - October 1990
PRODUCTION / QUALITY SUPERVISOR
Pulse Engineering was designer and manufacturer of inductors, delay lines, and electric and electronic components.
As Production Supervisor he was responsible for final electrical tests to all components made by the plant (3 shifts).
As Quality Supervisor he was responsible for outgoing Quality Assurance, incoming inspection, and molding start up approval.

CEDAT (Centro de Desarrollo y Aplicaciones Tecnológicas) is a technical support site of the Mexican Federal Health Ministry, which provides Design and Maintenance services to medical equipment customized to fit Mexican needs.
Fausto designed an Electro-myometer (equipment that measures the electric pulses that make muscles to move) PC compatible.
He supported the designs of a portable Electro-cardio-tachymeter, and a portable Respire-meter.
