Whitman Associates is one of the best staffing agencies in the DMV area. The professional staff works extremely hard to find you a position based on what YOU are looking for--whether that be part time, full time, or strictly temp work. The staff works in a quick and timely manner to place you in the best possible position for what ever you need/are looking for. Within a week of my interview at Whitman I was meeting clients and had secured a position. I can not thank Julie and the Whitman staff enough for how great of an experience their staffing assistance was. I would recommend Whitman to everyone!

Whitman Associates was pivotal in assisting our organization find a temporary administrative support when we needed one urgently. The candidates they presented us were all extremely capable. Our ultimate selection ended up being a great fit for the organization. Julie, from Whitman, is just really great at assessing candidates and introducing you to candidates that are not only capable of getting the work done, but also fitting well within the culture of your organization.

They take their time to really get to know their employees, which definitely helps with placement! I applied at Whitman as a recent graduate from college when I first arrived in DC. Julie and Chace were so kind and welcoming me to this big city and starting my career. I've taken many calls from recruiters trying to sell me job opportunities and Whitman Associates stood out among the rest. They really listened to what I needed from my next company and only set me up with interviews I was excited about. I never felt pressured to accept a role that wasn't right for me. They were extremely quick to respond to any questions and were very detailed.

I started temping through them, they found me a great fit and made the experience simple. The permanent job I accepted was not through their agency and they were still excited for me. I would definitely work with them in the future and send job searchers in the DMV their way!

We have had a great experience using Whitman Associates for our temporary and temporary to permanent staffing needs. The staff, and especially Julie there is very flexible in attending to our needs, responsive and will work with you to solve the inevitable conundrum. We have asked four temps become full time out of almost 10 temps in the past few years and while there will always be a temp that doesn't work out it was never because of Whitman. The rates are good, the temp to hire fees are reasonable and more so, the waiving of the fees for the requisite number of hours are reasonable as well.

My review for Whitman Associates is long overdue as Julie, Chace, and Madeline provided great attention, focus and care in my search for work following a Covid-19 related layoff from my previous position. They are amazing and deserve recognition for the great work that they do. I first reached out to Whitman Associates after I noticed several positions within the categories of sales and customer service on their website, and almost right away Whitman Associates reached back out to me.

In this first contact, we reviewed my previous experience, discussed my skills and abilities, and what I was looking for within my next role. Following this, it is clear that Whitman Associates wanted to help me as I was connected with several of their longstanding and very reputable clients for consideration to join their organizations and while I ultimately decided to begin working for an organization in New York City, I do think Whitman Associates is the best staffing agency in the Washington, DC area. Whitman Associates is wonderful in their communication with job seekers, has a wonderful base of client organizations (as mentioned before), and provides a very personalized touch while going above and beyond for each person that seeks their services. I highly recommend Whitman Associates and can not thank them enough for the wonderful work they did for me in a time that was very difficult to navigate and make it through.

Whitman Associate is an amazing staffing company that we use whenever we need to fill staffing needs - usually at a moment's notice. No matter the time of day, they are super responsive, and they are always prepared with a very long list of candidates to choose from - high quality candidates. I am not sure how they do it, but I am a very happy customer. Their team are always professional, very responsive to your needs - this is why I have been a long term customer of theirs. Hands down, Whitman Associates is one of the best staffing agencies, if not the best, in Washington, DC. I had never used a staffing agency before, and this was a pleasant experience. I found Whitman online late last year and decided to use their service after not being able to find a job on my own. Julie and her team were very helpful, responsive, and professional.

After sending my resume to Whitman, I received a call for an interview with them a few days later. During this job search process, they called me about several positions that matched with my qualifications. Finally, I was able to work for a nonprofit as a temp for a few months which now has turned into a permanent position with great pay and generous benefits.

I am forever grateful for the Whitman Associates team (Julie, Maggie, Chace, and Madeline) for their excellent service. I highly recommend them for job seekers and employers.

Eh, no luck with this agency. The reviews were generally positive, so I took a chance and submitted my resume for consideration. I submitted an application, took the tests, submitted references and was connected with Diana Villegas. However no opportunities were sent my way. Word of advice: When using a staffing agency, do not submit your references right away, or at the very least, make it clear that you do not want your references contacted until the agency has first connected you with potential opportunities. I was not happy this agency checked my references when I wasn't presented with a single opportunity.

I highly recommend Whitman Associates. Julie was absolutely incredible and gave me fantastic suggestions for improving my resume's readability. Even though I ended up landing a job by myself, Julie had some great opportunities lined up for me that fit my experience and preferences to a tee. If I ever find myself looking for a placement in DC, Whitman will be my place to go. They work hard for you and genuinely want the best for their clients.

I have had the luxury of having secretarial and administrative support for more than 35 years, and have always insisted on the best, because after all, that person is an extension of what I do. From running multi-million dollar corporations, to a small nonprofit, the criteria is the same. So, when I needed a temporary assistant for the week of our nonprofit gala, I called Whitman Associates, Inc. in Washington and happened to speak with their VP of Marketing.

I told her what I needed, and what that person would be doing. Now, while I would ordinarily want to interview that person in advance, Julie told me that she had the perfect person, so I relied on her. When Rachel arrived, she immediately dug in with smarts, efficiency, and initiative. She needed very little direction and no supervision. Julie was right. I recommend Whitman Associates highly and I will never use anyone else in Washington other than Whitman Associates. They are, quite simply, the best. O

My experience with Whitman Associates, Inc. was my first with a staffing agency and I am not sure anyone could provide a better experience. I originally found them online and decided it was worth a try since I was looking for a temp position. I followed the directions provided to email in my resume and follow-up with a phone call. I was immediately scheduled for an interview just a few days later (due to my own schedule being full).

The appointment was really smooth and straightforward. I met with Denise who was an absolute pleasure to interview with. The entire meeting was very professional while feeling very conversational. She went over my background with me, asked about various computer skills and shared next steps and the process on their end. After consulting with her colleagues, I briefly met with Michaela who confirmed my availability and the next steps.

That afternoon I took a series of brief computer-based competency tests (word, powerpoint, excel & spelling/grammar) and the very next morning I started getting calls from Whitman Associates with different offers. Throughout my entire experience I felt respected and very well supported by the team. They are a group of extremely kind and personable professionals who care about their clients. I would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future.

I highly recommend Whitman Associates! I had never used a temp agency before, and this was a pleasant experience. I was very frustrated trying to find a job after graduating; I ended up going to Whitman Associates for help finding a job even though the positions were unrelated to what I had studied but I didn't mind. Julie was so helpful, professional, and nice-- she called me and told me about several positions and never gave up on me.

I was working for a few months as a temp which turned into a permanent position. I can't say enough wonderful things about Julie. She was excellent to work with and wants you to succeed. Both She and Riley were very helpful and easy to work with.

This was my first review of Whitman back in Q1 2016: After three months of pounding the pavement with a freshly minted graduate degree in my hands, I turned to Whitman Associates hoping for something that would let me stop putting the hurt on my savings. Sure, there were some time-killer gigs, but in less than a month, they found more than a job for me. Whitman Associates paired me with an growing company that recognized my potential, the value of my education, and my energy.

They found a place where I won't just grow - I'll thrive. Shout outs to Julie and Alison, who always took my calls. One more to Riley, who inspired confidence in Whitman when I came in to Whitman on her second day. After getting downsized in Q3 2017, I feel the need amend my previous review: Whitman has gotten better. They found a place that matched my improved skills.

They encouraged me to take a chance when I was at my lowest, and I am so glad they did. It's now been 2 months since I started my current job, and I would not have found this door open without them.

Eeek - I'm honestly surprised about the negative reviews. Someone said they are racist?! They are certainly not. Anyway, I applied online with them about a month ago as I just recently moved to DC, jobless. Both Julie and Lindsey have been really great throughout the whole process. They presented a couple of opportunities that either fell through or I rejected before I accepted a fantastic position that I begin this week.

They called me often with different opportunities and asked before they sent my resume anywhere. They were not pushy at all. They are very pleasant and genuine. I feel like they worked hard to match/present me to the right employers. The job I'm taking has a lot of potential and I'm thankful to Whitman for it. You should give them a shot.

Sadly, they are racists at worse and elitist at best. You apply, get an email from a person who has never been available.even though you get the email with a name attached.saying that you are a great candidate, you call, get who I am assuming is the receptionist, who ask just enough questions to see if they can guess your ethnicity, Linda will come to the phone, will not acknowledge the email that said you were a great candidate, rather she'll say that your info. will be shared as they get opportunities, only you'll never hear from them again. Honestly, I'm not sure how they stay in business, It's sad in 2016.

Julie and Kim have made my working life in DC exponentially better. Here are a few of the reasons why I highly recommend Whitman: 1. Julie got me an interview within days of our initial interview. Our interview was within days of my application to Whitman. The entire process was smooth moving and easy. She also worked with me to help a friend who was moving to the area and connected her with work within a week of arriving in the city. 2.

So many temp agencies feel like cheap used car lots, I never got that impression from Whitman. Julie and Kim make meaningful placements where they think you will actually succeed rather than just shoving you in a random law office as a secretary to be talked at. My placement has been great- I've learned valuable skills that are transferable throughout my career (google analytics and grant writing!) and my friend has been placed in an international development office working with senior USAID officials (straight up her alley- the perfect location for her). 3.

I know 4 people who have obtained permanent positions from their Whitman Temp Jobs. You aren't just heating a seat, you're working for agencies where they want you to succeed so you can eventually join the team. All in all, I couldn't thank Whitman enough for the professional support they have offered me as a young professional in this city. I highly recommend this team if you're looking to start/re-start your career in DC.

Wow, what a terrible experience. Spoke with Julie Lindgren over the phone regarding a need for a office secretary position we had. She was extremely condescending and kept asking if we can afford it. After I asked about the price and confirmed that it was within budget, she said something like "are you sure". Over the phone she said they had candidates and wanted to set something up for next week (thanks for being prompt!).

When next week came, she emailed me and simply said she didn't have anyone and to try other companies. I do not recommend this company purely on their level of professionalism. She definitely doesn't seem to enjoy helping people and that showed in the way she treated me.

I have worked with various reputable temp agencies over the years during different stages of my life (college, post college, grad school). This is the first time I've an unprofessional experience with a temp agency. They were misleading about their assignments and not transparent throughout the process. I worked with a client of theirs for several months and when it was time for me to move on (something I was clear about from the beginning) they were not receptive or communicative.

I wanted to move on and gave ample notice, they insisted I stay on even part-time, and didn't communicate when they did find someone to replace me. They were rude, pushy, unprofessional, and deceptive and I would not recommend going through this agency for your temp work.

I sincerely appreciate how hard Julie worked to find me a temporary position. Compared to my concurrent experience with another agency, I found this operation much better run. Yes, Julie is going to make you prove to her that you are worth being a part of her portfolio. (My interview with her was by far my worst performance to date!) But after passing the sniff test and earning her trust, she's going to go to work for you.

That is in fact what it is all about. Within a week of meeting with her, I had an interview (and got the job!) with one of her clients. The client companies she works with have existing relationships with her and take her word that her candidates are quality even if they are "outside of the usual profile" for a certain position. THAT is powerful networking. It's worth noting that within two days of working with the client, I met someone who was placed by Julie several years ago and has considerably climbed the corporate ladder.

Keep in mind with any temp agency that it works both ways. You, a potential candidate, are an investment of trust on their part with client companies they've had for years. Your work ethic is representative of the temp agency to their client, for however long. Every time Julie sets up an interview, she is staking her personal and professional reputation with both you and her long term clients. Take that to heart in a small place like DC.

Not worth the time you will spend trying to tell them about your experience and passions. I submitted my resume (well qualified, lots of relevant experience, wide open schedule) and was immediately contacted by the head of their office. I scheduled an in-person interview for the next day and was basically told that I would be a shoe-in. During the interview, I met with two of the women who work there: the receptionist started the discussion, then Julie pulled me into her office.

As soon as I sat down with the second woman, I started to worry that the Yelp reviews were too true. She talked over me, didn't let me get a single word in, and made me feel completely inferior to her. I left their office downtrodden, but with hope that I would have some kind of income soon, as they indicated that I was more than adequately qualified for their temporary administrative positions. Well, it's been a month, and I haven't heard a peep from them. Thankfully, I've found a full time position, but this whole experience was so not worth it. If you want to temp, go through a different company.

Don't do it to yourself. This company is one of the worst staffing agencies in DC. When I interviewed with them they did not seemed concerned at all about my needs or what type of job I was looking for. I couldn't get a word in edgewise and they basically talked over me the whole time. They were very cold and mechanical and the interview was insanely rushed. Furthermore, they have done a terrible job getting me assignments and I feel as if they aren't even trying (my schedule is wide open). Lastly, (this is the kicker), they lost my paperwork and I didn't even get paid on time for the measly few days that I did work for them.

All in all, DONT DO IT. You''ll be better off checking out a ton of other temp agencies that the DMV has to offer. Two thumbs down for this company, seriously. If I could give them zero stars I would.

This is a little dated, but I had a great experience with Whitman, and just discovered Yelp.com, so I'm writing now. I interviewed with them in 2001. They found me temporary work almost every day for 2 or 3 weeks, then found me an association job, where I spent the next 7 years working my way up the ladder. I started at entry level, then worked up four steps to management It was a great experience, and I know my company continues to use them.
