Over the phone interview and the person conducting the interview was so unprepared, very surprising that companies send positions for them to fill when they can barely do an interview. They actually wrapped the interview up by saying they had a call on the other line. You are looking for professionals through a company who isn't professional themselves.

Geoff Savage and his so-called "staffing agency" Techounds are extremely unprofessional. I received a poorly targeted, unsolicited job listing via email from him and, admittedly, using not polite language, told him to not send me unsolicited opportunities. His response was to fraudulently use my email address to sign me up for dozens of garbage newsletters and sweepstakes promotions, as well as attempt to defame my character by sending our conversation to my current employer who, by the way, is on the other side of the world since I no longer live in the US.

If you look at Yelp reviews, you can see he has attempted to blackmail someone else in the past for turning down his poorly targeted, unsolicited opportunities. He continues to use my email address and physical address from years ago to sign me up for newsletters and distribution lists, but unfortunately for him I am documenting everything and have already filed complaints with the Secretary of State and will soon file a complaint with the Orange County Sheriff's Department if his harassing behavior continues.

Managing partner Geoff Savage sent me an unsolicited e-mail for a random position that was not commensurate with my experience or job preferences. The e-mail had a fake subject line: "Follow-up RE: Junior Compliance Specialist (Medical Device) Job" and fake introduction: "I am following up on the e-mail that I sent you a few weeks ago, but did not hear back from you." Needless to say, there were no previous contact attempts - this was just a copy-paste generic introduction, because my name and/or old resume showed up on a cheap e-mail list TechHounds purchased.

The lack of pre-screening, the mis-matched position and qualifications, the deceptive subject line and introduction, and the nasty name calling from Geoff when I called him out on his deceptive business practices (he called me an idiot) should tell existing and potential hiring clients and job seekers all they need to know about this boiler-room operation. Geoff even admitted that he based his original e-mail on an online resume of mine dated 2012 - how does that add credibility to his story? I've saved the e-mail chain, and happy to share it with anyone who responds to this review. Looked like they also scrub negative Yelp reviews - I mean, who does that, except someone with a lot to hide and be embarrassed for? UPDATE: Geoff threatened to contact my employer if I shared screenshots of our e-mail exchange. Last I checked, blackmail is a felony. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

TecHOUNDS does an absolutely fantastic job at finding the right candidates for positions that are difficult to fill! A Managing Partner, placed me at Covenant Care (2007) in a key position as Vice President of Technology. She is very professional and was able to negotiate a great salary at the time. Here at Covenant Care, we've used TecHOUNDS over the years to find key candidates. They've always been great at listening, understanding job requirements, and finding the best candidates on the market that fit our culture. Their technology and screening processes used to quickly find great talent are second to none!

Had a very positive experience working with the team at Techounds. They did a quick job of filling a position at my company.

I agree with the other reviewer's feedback - this is the rudest and most ineffective recruiting company ever. Their strategy for finding a candidate it spam their email list to see if someone will respond, their keyword matching system to find right candidate is also terrible. Their system keep sending me emails on jobs that was not even in the right ballpark let alone a match.

I requested that they remove me from the list repeatedly to no avail. They also automate "follow up" emails with very aggressive tone, so I called and end up speaking to a "Senior Partner" who was arrogant and extremely unpleasant at my request to remove my email from their system, like I am wasting his time. Guess what, I am in a leadership position with hiring and recruiting responsibilities, and I would NEVER use this company based on my experience and interaction with them and their principals.

If you are a considering using them for your recruiting efforts - DON'T! Because they will sour potential good candidates and your business with their unprofessional and disrespectful approach.

Not a good recruiting company for female engineers. I had an unpleasant phone conversation with one of their recruiters, Scott, who called me "honey" and interrupted me several times. Afterward, I spoke to one of the managing partners about Scott's unprofessional behavior. The partner said he'd follow up with Scott, but I was left with the impression that he didn't get why calling female candidates "honey" might be bad for business. My recommendation is to avoid Techounds and to work with a tech recruiting company that interacts with all candidates in a respectful and professional manner.

I was approached by two different recruiters for the same position, which I was clearly highly qualified for. I responded to each appeal with a phone call and response email. The first phone call was answered by an agent who was clearly very unhappy that I had reached out to her, and it took me several days of phone calls to reach them. The second time I was approached for this position by a different agent I could not get through to them at all, and they never answered any of my emails regarding the status of my application. This company has 0 'customer service' despite being solely to serve customers. Do not use their database or respond to any of their ads.

I received an email from one of their recruiters, approaching me for a job that was not even in my field. Was told it was the database that chose me do to the languages listed in my resume. So this guy ends up trying to take a jab at me by stating i worked for 7 different companies in 9 years. I work for myself as a consultant which means that I have been able to support myself with my own business and that I can get my own contracts. Loser company that hires rookies, do not work with them they will not represent you well.
