When I first moved to the Portland area I hooked up with a few hiring agencies, one being Special Counsel and I have to say that they were absolutely the best. Jessica Jones was my Recruiter and she was very attentive in finding what I needed in a company. They deal with some of the best employers in the area. There were other companies I had worked with that I felt never responded to me or did not communicate between the employer well, but with Special Counsel, the communication was always concise and I knew what to expect going into an interview.

And they also always provided great feedback after the interview. I feel like they were always doing their best to try to set you up with the perfect job. I would definitely recommend Special Counsel to anyone looking for a job and if I am ever am in a position where I am job searching again, I know I will be going back to them for their assistance.

I applied for a job on Craigslist that was through Special Counsel, and Jessica Jones called me to say she had much better offers available. We met and discussed my resume and experience, and what I was looking for--a direct hire job, not temp or temp-to-perm. She set up an interview with me the next week, and was setting up a new interview every week that was a good fit for me.

For each interview she gave me a lot of important information up front-type of office, compensation package, and what her visit to that employer had been like. After the interviews she called me to see how it had gone and passed on what the employer said about me. I received a terrific offer on a good job within the first month of looking, and I'd definitely use Special Counsel again.

Special Counsel is one of the most responsive, personable and effective recruiting firms I have worked with. I am currently working with Jessica Jones for Contract Attorney opportunities. She makes sure you are agreeable to her not contacting you unless a potential opportunity arises rather than following up to let you know "still nothing". As soon as a potential opportunity does arise, she calls and emails you to make sure you are interested before she says "yes" and submits your information. Everyone at Special Counsel was nice, and over a bit more than a year they kept me employed most of the time in decent temp assignments. That said, all of the assignments were with a single large employer. They didn't get me any interviews for any permanent positions and it really didn't feel like they were even trying. It felt like I was a steady stream of income to them and they were fine with that. It didn't feel like they were trying to help me achieve my employment goals.

So far amazing service from Special Counsel. I haven't found a job yet but Jessica Jones is amazing. She contacted me right away and we had a Skype interview a few days after. She found some amazing opportunities that I'm still waiting to hear back from but my overall experience has been great so far. I definitely recommend going through them when looking for your next job or career!
