We recently moved from the east coast. Before we left, I'd spoken with an agency who assured me they'd find me a job and that if I wanted, I could be working almost as soon as I got here. After we arrived, I began to search for jobs and set up a meeting with that agency. It;s now been nearly 6 weeks since I met with them and I heard from them once when they called to ask if I had experience in a particular area, which I didn't so that was it.
Not a peep from them since. I also met with another agency that sent me on one interview where the interviewer didn't seem sure what they were doing, but that's another story. Last week, I decided to contact Sonja Cotton as I'd seen many listings from her firm in my online search. I met with her on Friday and before the end of the day, she already had an interview scheduled for me.
Less than one week after talking to her for the first time, and she found me a job. (Yes, the interview was a success and I got the job.)
