I hired them for a party, and a half hour before the party, when no one had yet shown up, I called them and they said that no one would be coming. They said they had mis-staffed it, and that there was nothing they could do. So I had 70 people at my house with no bartenders or servers, and they haven't even bothered to call and tell me. Then, when I called them about it the following week (the event was on a Saturday) they were rude and mostly unapologetic.

Terrible. Would never trust them and the staff experience is questionable. Nobody ever called back to reimburse us for two pieces of broken crystal and china, even though Todd and the staff said it would not be a problem. The second person that came over was a complete waste of money. Could not move and wanted to stand in one place. Managing Director, Jerry Connolly, Amy Myers and the owner, Todd, never returned multiple phone calls and emails.

These folks should change the name of their business. THEY ARE NOT DEPENDABLE or professional! I hired 1 bartender and 2 waitstaff for an event in my home for 45 guests. Staff was confirmed the Friday before the event and only 1 bartender showed up the night of the event, 30 minutes late. The waitstaff were a NO SHOW. I received NO warning that I only had 1 person to help with a party of 45 guests. Furthermore, no one from the management team called me until I called them the following Monday noon.

Instead of mingling with my guests I was preparing and serving drinks and food, setting up to serve dinner, cleaning up etc. The management team (Todd) had told me they were "sorry" and he was in the UP without cell access so they could not return my calls Saturday evening, STAY CLEAR - HORRIBLE EVENT STAFFING EXPERIENCE!

I really wish we would have checked out Yelp before hiring this company- it might have given us pause. I am an event planner and a previous client had chosen Service is Us to staff their small wedding. The servers were ok- and the lead bartender was excellent which is why when we were in need of a couple of staff for another small wedding we decided to use them again.

We booked our staff with them and had email and phone confirmations. The days proceeding our event we called and had to leave a message to confirm the names of our staff and their contact info should anything come up. We never heard back from the company and the day of our event- two hours before it was to begin we found out that the people they booked for us were no longer available. (one had 'an emergency' and one called in sick) Then they told us that they could not fill those positions.

As a business owner I understand these things happen- but guess what, in MY business if someone didn't show up I MYSELF would step in and do the work. They did not. Instead they sent a mea culpa email during our event to say 'sorry'- while meanwhile our company had to do all the labor that was scheduled to be done by them, plus all our own work on top of it. After many years of using service is us I am through. DJ used to come to our home every Thanksgiving along with a server & dishwasher. Unfortunately DJ died suddenly last year. Todd was the owner, the company was sold & now Todd is an employee. Thanksgiving of 2014 Todd sent me 3 terrible workers who never should have worked in a private home. My expensive crystal was broken & a new serving platter. Todd said no problem, he would replace them. He never did & wouldn't even return phone calls. Do not use this company, it is now the worst & I think Todd is working against them. They do not deserve even one star!

I am sorry to say that after many faithful years at Service Is Us, we will never go back. They are probably fine if you just need someone to pour drinks, but their staff are totally inadequate in the kitchen, even in the most basic requests. Communication was terrible and I ended up just getting charged with no resolution. Go elsewhere for a special occasion.

Todd and the Service Is Us team did a great job with my private event. I was worried about someone coming into my home to bartend, but Todd and his team made it so much easier. I had a great party and would totally recommend the SIU team in the future.

Don't be fooled -- MOST of the staff are unskilled, untrained and unprepared to do the job. The front office staff is not any better except for Lee Guzman who seemed to be the only one capable of getting the job done in a timely manner. Go somewhere else if you need staff.

Unfortunately my experience with Service Is Us is quite negative. It started great; they were offering our non-profit a discount for the bartending services. We were having an offsite event, insurance and licensed bartenders required. I hired, and paid for 6 bartenders. 4 showed up. I called an hour after call time looking for them - the lady on the other line told me that the gentlemen I was booking with only put in for 4.

I pulled up the contract to make sure I wasn't going crazy, sure enough, it said 6. I told Lee to get me 2 more bartenders to work the event, as these were sponsored bars and could not be combined. She left me a voicemail a few minutes later saying she couldn't find anyone and they were closing the office - 'sorry'. We ended up having staff members of my organization miss the party to bartend because of their mistake.

I even PAID in advance for the services of 6 bartenders. The next day I contacted the gentlemen I was working with, Todd, and told him to call me to discuss this terrible bind he left me with because of his mistake. He never called me back, in fact he just emailed me 2 days later apologizing and telling me if I read the paperwork correctly, that one of the sheets had the mistake on it and I could have avoided this problem by calling him out on the mistake. Bullshit.

It is your fault, not mine for not reading your 6th sheet sent over that said the names of the bartenders coming; only listing 4. On a positive note, the 4 that did show up were very nice and helpful. I do not recommend using their services. I hope to see my refund check in the mail any day now.

Used this company for two weekend parties for a bar mitzvah celebration. They were awesome! Todd, the owner had so much valuable advise. He sent me great people that really made my parties fantastic. Cant say enough great things.

After years of working with Service Is Us, I only have good things to say about this company and their entire staff. As Special Events Manager at Catalyst Ranch (meetings and event venue) I regularly hire Service Is Us staff as bartenders and sometimes as waitstaff. Every employee has been professional and courteous to me, my staff, clients and guests. The only issue I ever had with an employee was resolved quickly by owner Todd Armbruster. I will continue to refer and hire Service Is Us.

We used Service Is Us to staff a birthday party. It was kind of complicated because we had food on various tables throughout the venue, hot and cold appetizers, and a bar. Service Is Us sent us Carnetta and she was amazing. She came in, got straight to work, got everything organized, and the entire event went perfectly and I was able to enjoy the party instead of running around to take care of everything. I made my reservation through John Tamayo, who patiently answered all of my questions. I would absolutely recommend them and Carnetta specifically if you can get her.

The five stars are solely for Lee Guzman who I spoke with a few times on the phone Although I didn't end up using them for a party my client was throwing I want to say that Lee was a joy to work with on the phone. She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The reason I didn't hire staff from this company had nothing at all to do with the company itself. Based on my correspondence with Lee I would be more than happy to use them in the future.
