I was hired as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the American River Fire Protection District in Sacramento County. Becoming a member of the finest fire service organization in Northern California is a dream come true. I have been testing for over four years, taking classes and volunteering many hours, but in the long run its all been worth it.
Qualifications include: (a) High school diploma or equivalent; (b) Must have Basic Structure Fire Suppression Certification; (c) Must have a Valid Class B Texas Driver's License and furnish copy of driving record; (d) Must furnish a copy of criminal history record. Both Driving and Criminal History records should not be more than 30 days old from date of application. Volunteer application can be picked up at any of our stations and should be returned to Station 891, 50 Commons Drive.
