Worst CDL School Ever! They tell you everything you want to hear in order to get your money. I went for 3 days did absolutely nothing during my time at HDS. All the instructors don't teach you anything they just stand around tell you how it's your job to figure it out. It's a lot of sitting around and waiting for your turn. I was there for 10 hours each day and drove a truck for 10 mins at most.

Most of your time will be spent standing around. It's was 40 plus people waiting in line for 2 trucks. I ended up leaving after only being there for 3 days. I paid half the tuition $1500 and I should have been due most of my money back since I left so soon after I started. It took months to come and when the money came it I received a $700 refund. HDS stole half money. How do you charge $800 for me to stand around do absolutely nothing for 3 days. Please do not go to this scamming driving school. HDS TRUCK DRIVING INSTITUTE sucks.

Just got my CDL from HDS a few days ago. I just want to say thank you to everyone who helped me achieve this goal at HDS. From the admissions Tara and Jessica and my instructors Mr liaga, Dan, Cody, Luisa, Steven, Jerry and Hector. Everyone was awesome and helpful.

"Our goal is to do everything possible to help our drivers succeed". NO they do NOT help you get through a difficult time or predicament. They pull strictly for SWIFT and they will not help you if you made a small innocent error. NEW DRIVERS take note. IF you have one closed container of alcohol in your truck while you roll down the road you are illegal and according to the head driver manager there, you have committed GROSS MISCONDUCT.

Well Mr. Glen, DID YOU FIGHT for me when SWIFT chose to pull me off the road for my GROSS VIOLATION? no you did not. DID YOU remind SWIFT of my super flawless 8 month record of being on time? no you did not. Did this take place at the SWIFT terminal office in the DALLAS area? Safety manager (SM): Jon did you know about this alcohol rule? Me: NO i did not.

We will give you a ride to the bus terminal. WHAT could have happened: SM: John you are not to transport any closed alcohol in your truck that is not on the BOL. Me: i have never heard of that rule ever; never knew it existed. Had I known there was a FEDERAL rule, had I understood a company rule; I SURE WOULD HAVE COMPLIED. After I was pulled off the truck, I was given a ride to the airport and that was all for swift and DSW.

Somehow my CDL is still valid (THIS GLEN guy telling me a violation would happen to me on the Federal clearinghouse site). SO all is pretty good at DSW except when circumstances work against you. THEN YOU will be ignored afterward, especially when you try to find out about Cobra insurance and actual termination papers. I wanted to post this so people can see that SWIFT is a foolish company.

They would rather have a new rookie pull their freight, than believe the sincerity of the person who gave them loyalty for 8 months straight. DSW? Well, like I said they do not try hard enough to retain good help either. *UPDATE* this review was written over 3 months ago and DIGBY /SWIFT must have reported it as SPAM. Trust me that they do not care to give EX EMPLOYEES any attention. Obviously my poor review is something they cannot let go public!

I recently received my CDL from HDS and have to say they are AWESOME! Instructor CODY really helps students learn the in and outs of the truck/trailer and all skills needed to pass your CDL driving test. Again a BIG shout out to CODY! Thanks

A lot of sitting around for your turn. Instructors are good but they count the hours you are present not driving so if you are taking the short program you will not get all of the hours you may need because of having to wait on a truck. The longer program gives too many hours and you will probably not need all of them before you are ready to test.

I worked for them temporarily and my last day i worked on a Sunday and I did not even get paid for it. Every time I try to call, it goes straight to VM and nobody picks up. did I seriously work for free?. the guy Mike said he would call me and reassured me i would get paid. I provided my information and 2 weeks in, I have not heard back from any ody regarding my last paycheck. this is family owned and they feel they use and treat their workers liked this, REGARDLESS IF I WAS A TEMP OR NOT, I still took time OUT OF MY DAY to drive 25 min and work for a few hrs FOR THEM.

For free?!? This place is a scam, I can't believe it. Plz reconsider applying and working for them. I had nothing bad to say about them UNTIL SOMETHING BAD happened, like them not paying me for working. Such a horrible and negative experience for somebody who is new to Tucson. SMH

Sent a potential driver to this school to get his CDL to drive for my company. He later told me that they gave him a sales push to work for Swift and tried to steer him away from my company offering the perks and income he could make driving for Swift. Employers beware sending your students here.

Met lots of good people here who were more than willing to guide me in the right direction. Had good conversations with the instructors. You'll be expected to buckle up your big boy pants and take the initiative to learn, but there are people there for you. Got my CDL fairly easy and I have numerous job offers.

I want to review how flexible and accommodating HDS Truck Driving School is. The instructors I worked closely with were Luisa, Dave, and Dan. I learned how to do my yards skills perfectly from Luisa. Thank you Luisa! She is awesome. Just listen to her and do what she says and you will have perfect yard skills too. Dave thought me how to shift, manage my nerves and become comfortable with the actions to smooth out my drive.

Thank Dave for your encouragement and patience! Dan is a wealth of knowledge. He is direct and fair and will teach you all the little things that make a big difference. Thank you too Dan. All the instructors are awesome you can't go wrong. Just remember to be your own biggest fan and don't get discouraged.

Got My CDL Today! I Want To Shout Out Dave (Instructor) If It Wasn't For Him IDK If I Would Of Made It Through, He Didn't Give Up On Me When I Gave Up Myself. HDS Was An Amazing Experience I Went From Never Driving A Manual To Being Able To Double Clutch And Parallel Park A Semi Truck Likes Nobody's Business. I Almost Wish I Failed So I Could Stay A Few More Days Longer.

I took the 160 hours class in the evenings. Because I had a full time job, it took six weeks to complete. I had issues with parallel parking, but Luisa showed me how to do it. Dave and Jerry are good instructors on the road. I did the classroom portion at home on Zoom which was great since I worked. I passed the permit test and road test on my first try. Definitely recommend. I've been driving OTR for three weeks now.

This school is GREAT! I just completed the 160 hour day classes and from day 1 it has been a great experience. I first dealt with the wonderful staff in Admissions. Tara, Tyana, and Jessica continuously went above and beyond to assist me and help. These ladies are a pillar to HDS. THANK YOU! Ben is very active trying to get the students employed and kept going the extra mile to help.

Thank you for the job leads. Once I got to the practice driving range I encountered and experienced genuinely caring and helpful staff of instructors. Tim was always very positive, understanding, and helpful. He has set a tone ans standard for the staff to be head and shoulders above any other trucking school. Bill is a very helpful trainer that shows daily that he cares about his job and the student's success.

I don't know how many times he came and would give me great tips and instructions. I'm very thankful he was there. Stephen always kept the students focused and would motivate everyone everyday. He is a true asset to the training program. Thank you Stephen you are a wonderful trainer. Sam was the first person that taught me how to double clutch and drive.

He has a heart of gold, extremely brave, and really cares about the students. I am very thankful that Sam was there. He taught me a lot. Thank you, thank you, thank you. LAST BUT NOT LEAST is Nelson. Nelson took a lot of his time to teach me how to drive and maneuver these big rigs. I am very thankful for all of the trainers but Nelson spent a lot of time teaching me.

He is patient, helpful, caring, and very good at teaching. Nelson you changed my life. HDS IS A GREAT SCHOOL! IF YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE A TRUCK AND OBTAIN A CDL GO TO HDS!

I had such an amazing experience. Since day 1, the staff there made me feel right at home. They were genuine! I was there to get my CDL Class B license. Keep in mind this was all brand new to me. The program they have in place worked perfectly for me. Don't hesitate about enrolling here. I promise you will not be disappointed.
