We had DogGoneHandy work on our townhouse prior to moving in. We bought all supplies (flooring, vanity, cabinets, etc.) and they installed. All work was done with professionalism and timeliness. Jonathan worked with us on designing and building a custom bar in our living room. We'll use them again soon for other work. We've worked with other contractors but DogGone has been the best.

I hired Dog Gone Handy to replace my attic stairs. The technicians were professional and polite. I was told the job would take "two to three hours", however, it took them four. I understand that carpentry jobs are not predictable, but what really annoyed me more was an issue with communication. John did not make it clear to me that their normal $90 per hour rate DOUBLES when they have two people on the job. Really?

After I called questioning my bill he said that he told me this, but he never once said to me that I would be paying $180 per hour for this job. This would have been a huge red flag to me, and I would have never hired this service for this price. I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. They even charged me for "supplies" which I asked about, and John said it was because they used their saws. Again, really?

I actually looked back at my emails from DogGoneHandy, and I still cannot find where it says $180 per hour for two people. Beware of hiring this company. They are VERY overpriced. They charged me almost $800 to replace my attic stairs (not including the cost of the stairs). This just feels wrong.

Was referred to them by another siding company because my siding repair job was small. I did not need an entire wall rebuilt. As they requested, I sent several photos of the damaged area. After waiting a week I was told someone needed to come out to give me an estimate. When I got back with them a week later to schedule a time for them to come out, I once again stated that I only wanted the damaged area repaired and the cabinet pushed back against the wall.

The guy emailed me back and said they would have to repair the entire wall because some studs were broken. Well, okay, if they knew that then I shouldn't have had to a week for them to tell me someone needed to come out. I still said it was fine to come out and give me a quote but that I only wanted the small damaged area repaired.then he replied back that they couldn't do my project. Three weeks wasted. Thank goodness for other companies who can come out and repair that one damaged area as I ask.

I am very grateful for this company helping me out on my first homeowner project. I had some loose tiles on my shower so I was planning to get the whole thing retiled. I decided on a contractor through Home Depot, but after they completed demolition, they found extensive water damage which would require repairs beyond their capabilities. I was referred to DogGone Handy since they were already working on my condo property.

They came in and handled everything seamlessly, even working with my insurance agent to make sure the claim adjuster got the right estimate. Salomon did an amazing job with the shower, not missing a single detail. I couldn't be happier with the result. Highly recommend these guys and I'll definitely use them again if needed.

Storm repair job. Roof and overhang were damaged by large branch. When repaired they used the materials that came off after the damage, instead of ordering new siding. Roof overhang was off 2 in 3 feet from the first repair crew. Waves in the siding were suggested that the original builder may have installed crooked, instead of the limb that damaged it?!?!

They came a second time weeks later and did some work to get the waves out, which helped, but still wasn't repaired properly. Jonathan is a good actor and pretended not to see the problems which were obvious. I finished the job and discovered they had not nailed a 3 foot section of sub-roof plywood to the outer rafter. Job done with a spit and a prayer.

DogGone Handy did a great reconstruction/painting job at my place of business so I called them to do some work at our condo. Everything from the quote to the completion of the job was handled professionally and well above my expectations. I plan to continue working with them as more and more of our home overhaul comes into focus. TJ was here on time and worked consistently and conscientiously until the job was completed. He really had his work cut out for him and the finished job looks great. Thanks Jonathan and TJ!

Generally the workmanship was good. I have worked with many different contractors in the past in many different cities and have worked in design-build myself. There's room for improvement on clearly communicating upfront to the client what tasks are not in the team's wheelhouse. I hired Doggone expecting all tasks could be completed by their team.

Once Jonathan and TJ started working on the job, I learned day by day, that some of the tasks could not be completed by them and that I need to call A separate plumber, chimney repair and insulation repair companies. I recommend Jonathan spends more time up front truly assessing what Doggone can and cannot complete. At $80/hr, i don't want to babysit a handyman and am disappointed after receiving the receipts, that TJ went to Home Depot daily and sometimes 2x a day on a week-long job.

He should've bought all supplies the first day rather than make daily trips since all the tasks were communicated up front. In my final invoicing, John invoiced me another client's receipts which had to be corrected as well. The team is friendly and courteous but not the most efficient and strategic with their time and therefore the client's time. At the end of the day, I hesitate to hire Doggone Handy for my rental properties.

Had an amazing experience with Jonathan on work to my condo (drywall/floor repair) prior to selling. He was straight forward, responsive and prompt throughout the process and extremely helpful, especially when unforeseen issues came about during the process. Would highly recommended!

I had been searching for a brick mason to repair the shoddy work done on my 1926 bungalow that existed when I'd bought it years before. After having 5 highly recommended masons look at the job and ghost me, I remembered Doggone Handy. They'd done an exemplary job installing a skylight 15 years before-- that still has not leaked. John W replied to my query in a timely manner. Stayed in touch.

They had to delay a bit due to Covid, but showed up when promised. Did the work so fast my neighbors commented. Matched the 1926 tritone brick. Everyone is in awe of the job they did that others said could not be done. Thanks Doggone Handy. I'll be back!

We hired Doggone Handy to replace our back porch, which was rotting out in several places. They were not the cheapest quote we got, but after being burned by the low bid on some other jobs, we went with them anyway. We had a few issues with communication to get the project started, but that was it. Robert was an absolute professional, he did a fantastic job keeping us informed on timelines and the results we got were excellent.

DogGoneHandy recently replaced a double window in our bedroom - a major undertaking. We couldn't be happier with the results. Everyone, from start to finish, was extremely friendly, professional, and more than willing and able to accommodate last-minute change requests. They left our place clean each time (they had to come more than once to finish the job). They also went the extra mile to make sure everything was done right when they could have cut corners like so many others do. We highly recommend them.

I was looking for a contractor to replace my shower pan. I could have done it myself but didn't have the time. But I knew exactly how much work and money the job was going to require. These guys quoted me $5k more than the next contractor - and so I ended up not using Dog Gone Handy. During the quotes they mentioned counting the steps to go up and down carrying trash, tools, etc.

I suppose they had no idea I wasn't that stupid. Men complaining about going up and down the stairs? LOL I don't know how the work is, but i can tell you that they'll pull a fast one on you if they can with price. Please shop around. You might end up saving $5k like i did. Nothing on the work since I ended up not using them. But they are not honest for sure.

It was hard to even get them to put us on the schedule. When a handy man did come out he did a good job fixing everything. However, after he left we saw that our hot water tap was bent and is no longer working. After many attempts to contact them, they refused to come back out and fix it, claiming that we must have broken it. It is bent and no longer works. Before he got here it was not bent and working. Will never use them again and will warn others.

Do not ever use these people! I asked them to remove a broken pane from my double pane window and they cracked the pane that was in good shape. I was handed 3 excuses.that or yard guys cracked the window while blowing off my deck (which they have been doing for 6 years), that the air pressure change caused the window to crack, or I did it myself when I cracked the outside pane.

My landlord has 3+ houses that he uses their services for and after this has decided to no longer use them. They also overcharged us and locked us out of our home after adjusting a door. John was a complete jerk upon offering many excuses vs just accepting his guy messed up. I would not suggest using them.

Do NOT even consider these guys! I have never been more disrespected, nor seen more blatant disregard for honesty than I have with my experience with DogGone Handy. What a terribly run company! They continued to give my wife the run-around, then did the same to me, continued to drop balls and behave very unprofessionally, and to top it off we were lied to and they even tried to pull one on us at the end.

My advise is to first avoid these guys at all costs, get everything in writing with who you do hire, do not be fooled by false kindness, and record conversations. Thank goodness I did that (even unintentionally, as my phone seems to record every call I make.) Deception and greed is no way to run a business. You should be ashamed of what your company has become!

DogGone has helped us out in so many ways. They are kind, professional, and perform outstanding quality service. We have needed them to come out in a rush, and they are always accommodating. They come prepared and always deliver the best.

Dog Gone Handy was fantastic! Prompt, efficient and professional. Everything you would want in a handyman service! The technician was very knowledgeable, a jack-of-all-trades, and tackled various repair projects throughout my home. If you have home improvement or repair tasks, and don't have the time or the ability to deal with them, I would highly recommend Dog Gone Handy. I know I will be calling them again!

DogGoneHandy was terrific! They came out to help me with some exterior trim rot and replaced a window for me. The technician was on time and courteous and very respectful of my space. He showed up on time and stayed until the job was complete and fully cleaned up. He answered a few other home maintenance questions I had while he was here and I have already scheduled them to come back to install a dog door and replace some interior trim. Great people, great company.

Does a pretty good job. I've had two projects with these guys, and while they were not perfect right away, overall you get service that's worth the cost. I had shelves installed around the ceiling of my home, and I also had a bathroom painted and fixed up a bit. I think they could do a better job with communication between subcontractors, but overall they care about doing the job right and making sure you're satisfied.
