I agree with the other reviews. It is a complete waste of time. I completed a background check with Contemporaries, in which recruiters indicated was positive. I was offered one job prospect, follow-up with no actual information for an actual interview. This agency is the worst. I do not recommend Contemporaries.

Waste of time. Interviewed with the beginning of June 2019 after having 5 years of various office management experience. I was told they have plenty if available positions that I'd be good for. The recruiter even offered to touch up my resume for me so I would be a more attractive candidate. I was thrilled that someone actually cared enough to help my better showcase my experience.

After the interview, I left the office feeling excited. The next week I "checked in" with them to see if they had any available positions open and if the updated resume was completed. I was told nothing available yet. And they were never heard from again

I submitted my application online and got no reply even after waiting for over a month. Just a short rejection letter would have been considerate. As a job seeker I am already going through a very difficult and frustrating process and being ignored by a staffing agency is even more discouraging. I hope they improve their customer service.

I have had some very positive experiences working for the staff at Contemporaries and if I had any issues or concerns about the assignment I was I working on I could always talk to the staff. They are always understanding, patient, and compassionate. It's a pleasure working for such a "Dream Team" of professionals.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity with Contemporary. It has truly been a pleasure getting to work with such an amazing staff that you have. The customer service that the company provides is beyond expectations and more. Helping me me to make the choice to work for Bright Life was definitely a great pick. The commute is great, the people are awesome to be around, the environment is definitely what a work place should be like for every company. Thank you again, Alonzo for all that you have done. Happy New year to you and everyone at Contemporary

The worst thing to do to a jobseeker is to provide false hope. Let's start at the beginning. Looking for a better position then my last job, I submitted my resume to the company. They called me back and wanted to set up an interview. Awesome! I was set to have an appointment with Elizabeth. When i arrived, they passed me off to another recruiter, Zo. Cool, no big deal.

I took 3 test to test my accuracy on Microsoft programs in which I scored above world average, one was on average. Me and the recruiter, Zo, spoke and he talked about the test and the fact that I have years of administrave work along with a degree. He stated that when any jobs come up, he would give me a call. I was excited (to my mistake) and was hopeful.

I referred them to friends and coworkers as well. I went to them in late June and it is now January, I haven't heard from them since I stepped foot out that office. I called and they offered a generic excuse. Complete waste of time. Maybe Zo is just garbage at his job. I forgot to mention that when filling out applications to be in their system, he forgot to hand me the entire package and his co workers had to print them out for me.

His excuse "it's Friday." If they give you Zo, politely ask for another recruiter. Save yourself the grief. Luckily, I was offered an awesome job I applied to myself. Good luck jobseekers! Maybe your experience will be different.

Abandoned! I worked at contemporaries staffing for about five months, I went on two assignments one lasted for, four months and the other lasted for about two weeks. When the assignment ended I was told that they still wanted to work with me but that was in October it is now December and I have not heard anything. They sent me on an assignment because the previous employee said she was going on a "vacation" but when I arrived on the assignment the former employee told e that she was quitting.

When Alonzo called me with anther assignment I told him that I wanted to work at the current location that I was at because it was close to my home and the pay was good. He told me that that job was not available and that the former employee was not going anywhere the next week she quit. I worked on that assignment for less than two days because the previous employer didn't think I was competent in doing my job. Have NOT heard from contemporaries sense October, I guess they did not want to continue to work with me after all.

After completing/ the Microsoft office, clerical & typing test, there was an interview portion. Relatively standard procedure for recruitment agencies. I was going for administrative positions. My situation was complicated - I rely on public transportation & I wasn't sure how long I was going to stay in the area. Contemporaries pulled through & placed me in a convenient location with good compensation immediately after accepting me on their team.

I found it easy & comfortable to decline/ accept positions, as they appreciate honesty. As long as you can show up on time & do what you're supposed to do you'll keep being offered positions. The only reason I'm not giving full 5 stars is because overall the wages are on the lower side, and it takes a long time for opportunities to come up (other than when I first started). I would recommend this agency to friends, and if I needed temporary placement again, I would go back to them.

Contemporaries is one of the best temporary agencies in the Greater DC area. I have gotten to know their staff through professional networking groups and everyone sings their praises!

This is a small office so you will need to do more of the leg work than a bigger place. The people are very nice and personable. You will need to go in early to fill out paper work and to take clerical test. I recommend this place if you are interested in health temp positions or legal work. Its located near the metro in downtown silver spring.

This is a great staffing agency. I didn't have any administrative experience and they still managed to send me out on a bunch of assignments. The assignments were good too, I worked in a couple different government agencies from summer-fall 2015 before I moved out of state. I kept getting called to sit in on meetings and took notes for clients with disabilities. Five stars because staff were also really friendly

This review is written about Contemporaries, Inc. in downtown Silver Spring, MD. They told me that I would be in the office for two hours to test and interview, and advised that I would be tested on MS Word, Excel and typing. Once testing was completed, moments later, there was a series of written exams that they never told me about. Otherwise, I would have prepared.

The documents were poor quality and the print was very small on parts of the written exam making it difficult to read. When I told them I had to be at my current assignment by a certain time, they did not ask if I would like to return another day to complete the written portion of the exam, not to mention that the office staff are unprofessional. I overheard the staff engaging in small-talk conversations about clients, etc., that was not in favor of the parties being discussed.

After my results, I got funny stares from the staff, which I think was quite rude. I generally don't test well, but it's not because I don't know the material, and I probably would have done better if they were honest up front and advised that there were going to be multiple testing. I will never return to this company. I thought, if they openly talk about their clients and others around potential employees, what makes me different?

This company is not at all what I had invisioned. The staff left such a bad taste in my mouth that I immediately threw away the employee handbook and other literature that was given me as soon as I arrived home, and I will not be calling to check-in for assignments.
