Ken Poirier, owner at Abbey Placements, has been in the staffing industry since 1978. He opened Abbey Placements in 1982 in the old Unity Building in downtown Bloomington. Some of his areas of expertise included sales, manufacturing, retail, food service, finance, accounting, and programmer analysts, as well as many office level positions.
Abbey Placements is a locally-founded second-generation staffing service specializing in hourly skilled labor and administrative jobs. Our award-winning team of experienced recruiters is efficient and thorough about finding and selecting top job-seeking candidates for our clients. I applied for abbey through indeed. Within a week they set up on boarding and worked with me to get me a job and now they check in frequently to make sure I'm doing okay at my new job. I have definitely recommended people reaching out to them if they need help getting in at a job! Update: I changed my review because they were unprofessional about letting me know I was getting fired for my health issues.
I have to have surgery and they didn't care they still fired me. Which is fine. But they called my sister and left her a voicemail with personal information about me getting fired. So wrong.

These people where great until I got sick with a minor flu they never gave me an opportunity again but it's okay I made an opportunity for myself. I do not recommend or support this business in any way. I moved to Bloomington in 2015 abbey placements never found me work all the way up until I moved which was 2021 so 5-6 yrs they couldn't get me 1 job and I've graduated highschool, have 10 yrs+ work experience and I've been to college. Thankyou for nothing I now own my own company. You don't need them.

I have used temp agencies before, but this was my first time going through Abbey Placements. Mel was really helpful and detailed. She made up a resume for me to send out to potential employers. She also helped with a practice interview the day of. Clif was helpful with the finish, after the hire. Very nice and professional. I will look to them again if I ever need another job.
